On the 31st of Jan last year I blogged about the crazy idea of a web conference in Newport. 115 days later we had the first Port80 conference on the 25th of May 2012. The event was sold out and, if I do say so myself, it was a cracking day.
However there is other big news for today. And it seems fitting to do this on the anniversary of the launch of Port80: a new website and the release of the tickets for the May event.
The cost of the tickets are £59 (+VAT) for earlybird and £79 (+VAT) for standard. Tickets are already selling fast so, without trying to sound like a greasy used car salesman, if you want to come to Wales’ oldest and original web conference*, then don’t delay.
Update: If you are a full time student then you can use the voucher code of “STUDENT” to get 20% off. But you will need to bring an arsenal of ID on the day or you won’t gain entry & we’ll throw you in the river. Sorry.
Oh, and I did mention that we’re taking training & workshops seriously this year; for that reason I’m proud to announce that Andy Davies and Jack Franklin will be offering workshops on the 9th of May; more details on that to follow soon (and perhaps more workshops being announced as well).
I’ll blog separately about why the website was redesigned; I think it’s a vast improvement although I’ll be the first to admit there are a few quirks which I’ll be ironing out in the next couple of days so please be gentle. Many thanks for all the team for the hard work on this.
So, a few key points for you:
- Get your tickets from eventbrite
- Still looking for sponsors, so please shout out
- Next week is the Spring Localhost event (sold out sorry!)
- First Port80 podcast will be out next week
- Some more treats to come
